The Dragon Café will be in person at The Crypt at St Peters Church.

Join us as we spend the day getting creative with our special workshops!

12pm: Doors open: Come and relax, catch-up and chat. Hot and cold drinks will be available.

12:30pm – 2pm: Poetry with Emma McGordon.

We are extremely happy to welcome Emma back to the Dragon Café for another of her Poetry session. Emma’s sessions provide a fun, engaging and accessible way of writing your own poetry. Emma’s use of free writing and poetic form makes this an ideal workshop for everyone, from beginners with no experience of writing poetry to seasoned writers. Emma a multi award winning writer and performer. Much of her writing and spoken word is semi-autobiographical. Emma takes pride in being close to vulnerability and truth in her work.

2pm: Hot Food: This week at The Dragon Café we have free hot food available! This will be served after the creative writing workshop.

2:45pm – 3:45pm: Singing Group

In this Session participants are invited to come together in celebration of the positive impact of singing and the voice. This session, facilitated by our singing lead Vivien Ellis, will be an energy filled journey through a mix of singing and vocal styles. From sea shanties to old English chants, choral favourites written by the singing group and some improvised rounds and soundscapes. There is something in this session for everyone.

4pm – 5pm: Danceworks

For our session this week it’s time for our uplifting and re-energising weekly dance. We have some great music and a mix of old and new dances to throw yourself into. As always, this session will be skilfully led by our resident chorographers Ariella and Renzo. No experience necessary, come along and join in.

5:20pm – 6:20pm: Gong Bath

Gong baths are an immediate and effective way to achieve deep relaxation and enhance well-being.  They are particularly recommended for anyone struggling with insomnia, anxiety, depression, anger issues or chronic pain... but can be enjoyed by and be helpful for everyone.

Lie back and enjoy the healing sounds of magnificent large gongs, played alongside Himalayan singing bowls, quartz crystal singing bowls and Javanese bronze percussion. Sessions are led by experienced gong-player and trained sound therapist Cathy Eastburn.

All are welcome and we look forward to welcoming you to The Crypt at St Peters. See you on Monday!
