Our flagship creative endeavour provides a unique, relaxing and creative space open to all every Monday. This project is run as a hybrid event with some events in person and some online so everyone has the opportunity to join us.

Our fortnightly Wednesday project runs in partnership with Shoe Lane Library in the City of London. We offer a creative space for mental wellbeing to people who live and work in the city. This is also a hybrid project so can be accessed by all.

We run a series of fantastic pop up events throughout the year under the banner MFC Presents. This page will be updated throughout the year and examples of this work can be seen under the past events tab.

Upcoming Events:

Mental Fight Club Founder, Sarah Wheeler

Mental Fight Club is a creative group which arose out of the experience of severe mental illness and recovery of the late Sarah Wheeler. In 2003, Sarah ran a series of group readings of the epic poem ‘Mental Fight’ by Ben Okri – people liked them, word got out and Mental Fight Club was born.

Mental Fight Club’s aim is to be an open, welcoming group which puts on exciting, well-organised and inspirational creative events and projects. Most of our part-time paid workers and volunteers have lived experience of mental health, but also as friends, family and carers of those with mental ill-health. We work hard to develop ways of working together that help us all with our on-going recovery and self-awareness and equip us with new skills and experiences.
