Dragon Café In The City participants created these fantastic modern sculptures with no prior experience, before coming together as a group to make this stop motion animation film with artist Reza Ben Gajra!
Ballad Walk
A historic walk that took place on Wednesday 29th September with Dafydd Wyn Phillips, a Blue Badge Tourist Guide and singer, Vivien Ellis who has written and recorded the song linked below.
We explored the history of the area around Shoe Lane in Farringdon, City of London. Themes included birth of printing, plague, poverty, prison, execution, and first performance of Shakespeare’s Tempest.
Southwark Rebel Women
Written and recorded in lockdown with support from Southwark Council Neighbourhoods Fund for International Women’s Day 2021. The song celebrates these women who fought for social change: Dragon Café founder Sarah Wheeler; 18th century feminist philosopher Mary Wollstonecraft; as well as Una Marson, Ada Salter, Octavia Hill and Evelyn Sharp.
