Through the Lens

Following on from our successful initial partnership in May 2022, in January 2023 we began our second photography course in collaboration with The Marylebone Project. Photographer Marysa Dowling expanded on her lessons from the first project with many of the original participants taking part.

With our first collaboration being focused around The Marylebone Project itself, in this second course ‘ Through the Lens’ we decided to explore the outside world enabling the women to portray what they see on the streets, what they focus on and how they see the world. The participants were also encouraged to take photographs outside of the formal sessions with Marysa and explore how they want to create a picture and what they want the focal point to be.

The photos created in this course display how the women that use The Marylebone Project services see and experience the world. The women who took part said they found the experience beneficial and uplifting.

At the conclusion of the course we celebrated the work created at the Hyatt Churchill Hotel who have a long partnership supporting The Marylebone Project.
